Side Table

sometimes you find things when you aren't looking...the day i found this piece i was taking my daughter to her friends house...when i pulled up in the driveway, this baby was sitting beside the trash can...to the friend, this was just an old junky table...to me it was my new treasure...

the day i got the table...i put it in my suv...finally it comes in handy...

did some sanding...cleaned off the handle..this piece is solid cherry....nice piece...

i decided to paint inside of the drawer..i NEVER do this...sometimes i line with paper but never paint..i just liked the crisp white look

spray painting in the house since the weather stinks here in georgia....this is not recommended...since it was such a small piece i did it in this box...it will leave over spray if you are doing a lot of painting...
after...inside does not make for great photos...i didn't enjoy doing the zebra...stenciling is not my thing...my daughter loves it and thats all that matters...i had several places that bled through but it kinda blends in
after...the little carved flower hardly shows...now i wish i would have done something different with it...
beside...before and after...
a bit of iphone effect...

  5. So cute - can't believe someone would throw it away! Good job and lucky for you! You might try rubbing a little glaze over the flower to bring out the detail.

  6. Very cool stencil on the top Can't believe your friend was gonna throw it out. My brother told me he burnt a old dresser because he didn't think I'd want it. I was like WHAT!! He wont do that again ;)

  7. I'm always telling friends, family, neighbors...not to throw away furniture like this! They think it's trash, we can see the treasure... I think they believe that I'm just a hoarder. When they see the 'junk' you've just transformed, they're like, Oh! I love the zebra on top, I too cannot stencil very well! Better with a paint brush. Thanks for linking up this week at T4.

  21. Love the way this turned out. I'm planning on revamping the side table we currently have in our living room... and maybe the legs of our coffee table. I'm just super scared that it won't turn out well and then I won't have something that looks decent to put in my living room. Posts like yours are starting to give me some courage.

I would love it if you’d stop by and share at my first link party, Off the Hook:
